Here are 5 ways to optimize your home’s curb appeal before listing it for sale.
Tip #1: Wash all the windows
As a Real Estate photographer, one of the first things I look for is natural light. Best way to let it in is through clean windows. When you decide it’s time to sell, look around your house, and find all your sources of natural light, open them, and shine them up! Clean windows look great, and let more sunshine in!
Tip #2: Upgrade your pathway
Follow the yellow brick road to your front door! A custom pathway that you can either hire someone to do, or build yourself, will give your home that curb appeal boost buyers are looking for. 92% of home buyers use the internet in their home buying process, and your property has one picture to make a great, and ONLY first impression. Check out this website where you can turn wood pallets into your new pathway.
Tip #3: Pressure Wash Exterior
When people say, “It looks brand new!” they usually say it because its REALLY clean. Before you get to googling Pressure washers in Humboldt, take a look around your home, and make a quick assessment to see if you need this. Look at the image below, pressure washing properties does wonders.
Tip #4: Upgrade Your Door
Your gateway to your private living space. When I asked Cheri Champ what she thought made a house stand out in her eyes, she simply said, “The front door.” This tip combined with Tip #2 can bring new found beauty and symmetry to your curb appeal. Pick up a bucket of paint from the hardware store, but make sure it complements your home’s color scheme. Check out this example:
Tip #5: Trim Back and Clean up the Landscaping
This to me has proven to be a solid way to get your home moving. My personal experience was one of our listings. It had overgrown hedges that we cut back, and the home sold shortly after that. Check out this video.
